The Knight’s Watch
Charlotte. The queen city. A place I never thought I’d find myself. I moved from Boston only a few weeks before, just after graduating college.
“Darryl” My sister had said, “Don’t make the mistake of thinking it’s all racism and NASCAR down there. That line of thinking will only get you hurt.” It was hard to brush off the stereotype when I got off the plane. But talking to new people has I moved in to my apartment helped. Friendly, tactful, and passionate. As an aspiring craftsman I’d hit the goldmine for places to live. My new home was adjacent to a massive home impr

A Neutral State – Part One
Jedi Knight Kad’au, a sentinel from the jedi enclave on Dantooine, had just returned from council. The library immediately quieted down as he entered. His closely trimmed beard only partially masked his worried expression as he briskly padded to the darkest corner of the hall. Especially since if my true origins were to get out they would skin me alive on the steps of city hall. I sat up in the bed and stretched. I paused to let my eyes adjust to the lighting of my home. I looked through my door to the dining room, where my high-powered marksman rifle waited for me on its wall mount. Just under it hung my kha’resh knife, a special kind of blade made specifically for hunters. Shaped like an ancient machete, with the first half serrated and t
